1. AD PLATFORM ENGINEER

What We’re Looking For

A self-motivated developer who has a passion for solving interesting problems and devising unique solutions with a cross-functional set of skills. One that is not afraid to tackle new and unfamiliar problem domains while maintaining a clear understanding of the end goal and the trade-offs made along the way.

What You’ll be Doing

Here at Mavizon, we’re working on some really interesting projects. Currently we’re looking to hire a developer to assist in developing our real-time, location-based Ad Platform. The system is currently in its infancy and new developers have the chance to make a large impact. Important work will be done in real-time event notification, computing large data-sets, and creating scalable architectures.

Expectations

  • Familiarity with various NoSQL DBs (MongoDB a plus).
  • Familiarity with MySQL DB.
  • Working knowledge of scripting language (Ruby, Python, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of .NET Framework and C#.
  • Experience creating web services.

Bonuses

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience with Git and/or GitHub.
  • Open source contributions.
  • Familiarity with agile development processes.

2. LEAD MOBILE SOFTWARE APP DEVELOPER – ANDROID

What We’re Looking For

An enthusiastic mobile application developer who loves building intensely engaging, user-focused applications for Android devices. A developer who has an understanding of the mobile app ecosystem, a strong personal initiative and drive to build the greatest mobile apps on the market, and the motivation to lead the development effort.

What You’ll be Doing

We’re currently looking to hire an Android developer to help us make MyMavia.com not only a fantastic web experience but, also a great mobile experience. As Mavia progresses, so must our mobile applications. We need things like real-time, location-based reminders; geofence management; and deep social integration that creates a unique and valuable experience for our users.

Expectations

  • Superior Java skills.
  • Deep and thorough understanding of threading, UI development, OO design, and Android-related design patterns and idioms.
  • Passion and drive to build mobile application interfaces that people love to use.
  • Knowledge of how to efficiently consume RESTful APIs from within mobile applications.
  • Social Network Integration: Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc.
  • Demonstrable portfolio of Android related applications.
  • Interest in learning and developing on new platforms like iPhone, Windows Phone, and HTML5.

Bonuses

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re currently looking to hire an iPhone developer to help us make MyMavia.com not only a fantastic web experience but, also a great mobile experience. As Mavia progresses, so must our mobile applications. We need things like real-time, location-based reminders; geofence management; and deep social integration that creates a unique and valuable experience for our users.

  • Superior Objective-C and Cocoa skills.
  • Deep and thorough understanding of threading, memory management, UI development, OO design and iOS-related design patterns.

4. BACKEND SOFTWARE ENGINEER

What We’re Looking For

A passionate programmer and a tinkerer with strong scripting abilities, who’s not afraid of a command line. Someone with the motivation to work as part of a small team on emerging hardware and the software and servers that power it.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be involved in all backend aspects of connected hardware. The position is hands-on, so configuring and testing custom hardware isn’t out of the ordinary, but most of your work will be spent on maintaining, improving efficiency and scalability–and designing new backend services that support our current and future family of Mavia devices.

Expectations

  • Coding must be a passion.
  • Mastery of Python or Ruby and a strong understanding of network programming.
  • Experience using an event-based framework.
  • Operating in Linux must be second nature.
  • Knowledge of how to efficiently consume RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to work independently and within multi-faceted teams.

Bonuses

  • AWS or other cloud experience.
  • Interest in Social Networks and their APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc).
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
  • Hobbyist or professional microcontroller experience (e.g. Arduino).
